ISO 22003-1:2022 Transition

The ISO 22003-1:2022 Standard, which is the Requirements Standard for Organizations Providing Certification of Food Safety Management Systems, was published in June 2022. The International Accreditation Forum (IAF) has determined the conditions required for the transition to the relevant standard in the IAF MD 27:2023 document.

The published standard includes changes, especially in the calculation of audit periods and food chain categories. Certification bodies that provide ISO 22000 Food Safety Management System certification must complete their transition according to ISO/IEC 22003:2022 by December 31, 2024.

The transition application has been made to the Accreditation Institution, and after the transition is completed, ISO 22000:2018 Food Safety Management System audits will be carried out according to the ISO 22003-1:2022 version.
